The Toccoa-Stephens County Airport will hold World War II Heritage Lineage Days Airport Open House in honor of the paratrooper history of Toccoa on Saturday, July 8. A C-47 airplane will be on site to tour, mock C-47 door training for children, re-enactor displays and historical briefs The event will conclude in the evening with a 1940s era hangar dance. The activities will take place at the LeTourneau Hangar from 2-5 p.m. for the C-47 displays and 6-8:30 p.m. for the hangar dance. Food trucks will also be on site for patrons and include Cole's Southern BBQ, The Eggroll Boyz which are sandwiches in eggroll form, and the Kona Ice Truck. Currahee Brewing Company and the VFW will also sponsor adult beverage sales which are cash only.
