Justin Haynes started Monday at his new job as manager of the Toccoa-Stephens County Public Library.
It’s his third gig managing a library in the northeast Georgia area.
The first two were for the public library in Cornelia and after that, the public library in Helen.
A 2011 graduate of Habersham Central High School, Haynes said he graduated from Truett McConnell University in 2017 with a degree in theology.
Libraries have interested Haynes from a young age, he said.
“The library was always the place I liked to go to as a kid,” Haynes said, adding it was a place where he could “escape” to other worlds.
A resident of Clarkesville, Haynes said that some of his favorite books include young adult fiction such as R.L Stine’s Goosebump series.
For non-fition, he said he likes Peter Rollins’ theology books and Soren Kierkegaard’s books on philosophy.
Haynes said his movements along the lines of library management were due to each library offering a change of pace.
He said he doesn’t have any immediate plans tor the Toccoa-Stephens County Library other than getting to know it and the community better.
In the future, Haynes said he would like to add more programs at the Toccoa-Stephens library for middle school and high school students.
“I’m really excited to be here,” Haynes said.
